About CIE

The Council of Indian Employers (CIE) is the central organization of employers in India, recognized by the Government of India and international bodies like the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Established in 1932, CIE has been at the forefront of representing employers' interests in tripartite consultations, shaping labour legislation, and promoting harmonious industrial relations. Our membership comprises leading industry associations, chambers of commerce, and corporate entities from diverse sectors across the nation.

We serve as the national voice for employers on all labour and social policy matters, advocating for a conducive business environment that balances economic growth with social justice. Our mission is to empower employers with knowledge, resources, and representation to navigate the complex landscape of industrial relations and human resource management.

CIE actively participates in the Indian Labour Conference (ILC) and other tripartite forums, providing evidence-based inputs to policymakers. We are also the Indian affiliate of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), connecting Indian businesses to the global employer community.
